ECTA (European Communities Trade Mark Association) was formed in 1980.

The task of ECTA (European Communities Trade Mark Association) (http://www.ecta.org ) is to promote the knowledge and professionalism of members and owners alike in the fields of designs, copyrights and trademarks in European Union (EU.

ECTA does also take into consideration all questions arising from the new framework affecting trademarks registration in Europe Union (EU), including the globalization of markets, the explosion of the Internet and the changes in the world economy.

Our law firm is a member of ECTA since May 1st, 2004. We were the first ones from Latvia to become a member of the EU Trademarks Association. ECTA brings together persons practicing professionally in the Member States of the European Union in the field of trademarks, designs and related IP matters.

Our law offices in Estonia and Lithuania became members of ECTA as well thus expanding our professional activity in designs and related IP matters and fields of trademarks in European Union (EU).
